Create it, send it, scratch it open
- Step 01
Choose a design and message
Open the free scratch card maker. A ready-made design is already selected. Write your message, or open “Change design, add a photo or a name” to personalize it. Try “Preview” before creating your link.
- Step 02
Create and share the link
Tap “Create link”, then “Send on WhatsApp”. Choose the person or group and send the message in WhatsApp. You can also tap “Copy link” and paste it into an existing chat.
- Step 03
They open it and scratch
The recipient taps the link and opens the card in a browser, then rubs the foil with a finger or mouse. They need no Send a Scratch account or extra app. After revealing it, they can send a reaction or a private text or photo reply.
Keep your private inbox link
On the creation screen, use “Copy my private link” and save it somewhere only you can access. This opens your management view, where you can read replies, check opening counts and edit or delete the card. Send the recipient link using the sharing controls above it; keep the private management link for yourself. We cannot recover a lost key or code.
What appears in the WhatsApp chat?
The chat may show a public preview image and text. Choose an occasion preview, or customize it without giving away the gift. The hidden photo and message are encrypted separately. Anyone with the full recipient link can open or forward the card, so choose whom you share it with.
Ideas for your first card
- Birthday surprise: “Your gift: dinner together on Saturday. I’m treating you.”
- Personal gift voucher: “One homemade breakfast in bed, on a day you choose.”
- Invitation: “Keep Friday at seven free. There’s a surprise waiting at our place.”
Questions about sharing
- Can I send a scratch card as a photo or PDF?
- Send the link to keep it interactive. A screenshot, downloaded image or PDF does not contain the working scratch effect. The recipient opens the link in their browser.
- What if WhatsApp does not open?
- Tap “Copy link”, open WhatsApp yourself and paste the link into the chat. If your browser blocks automatic copying, use the manual-copy dialog. Copy the entire link, including everything after the # sign.
- What if the recipient cannot scratch or open it?
- After 20 seconds, a button lets them reveal the card without scratching. For an incomplete link, resend the full original recipient link. A scheduled card must wait until its unlock time; an expired or deleted card needs to be created again.
- Can I send it to a group?
- Yes. Everyone with the link can open it. The opening count includes repeat visits, so it is not a count of people or an RSVP list. Replies are anonymous unless someone identifies themselves in their message.
- Can I use SMS, email or another messenger?
- Yes. Copy the recipient link and paste it into your message. The card opens in a browser regardless of which app delivered the link.
- How long can they open the card?
- Choose 7, 30, 90 or 365 days when creating it. After the first opening, it remains available for at most 14 more days, without extending its original expiry. Save anything you want to keep before then.
